MASTER OF SCIENCE IN PROJECT MANAGEMENT

The philosophy of MSc Project Management programme is to produce graduates with innovative and forward-looking view in tackling management challenges in physical infrastructure development process. The programme is generally aimed at satisfying the demands generated by trends that have resulted in the infrastructure development process taking a more holistic perspective and the increasing integration of the supply chain. The primary focus is on developing relevant core skills that provide solid and comprehensive foundation for effective management of projects. The secondary focus is on providing some degree of flexibility that enable students target at specialisation and choose their career paths through selection of appropriate courses.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

To gain admission into any of the postgraduate programmes, applicants must meet the current entry requirements prescribed by the Postgraduate School of ABU. Each applicant must hold either:

  1. A minimum of second class lower honours degree in Quantity Surveying, Architecture, Building, Urban and Regional Planning and Engineering from ABU or any other recognised University, or

  2. A 3rd class degree in Quantity Surveying with at least five years of relevant experience or with full membership of a relevant professional institution in addition to at least three years of relevant experience, or

  3. A BSc, BA or PGD (with a CGPA of 3.0 and above or equivalent) qualification in a relevant course from a recognised university..

It should also be noted that candidates whose undergraduate curriculum/transcript do not have sufficient management background may be required to take some remedial courses at undergraduate level.
