You are warmly welcome to the website of the Faculty of Environmental Design, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria. The faculty is endowed to be the oldest amongst its pairs among the Nigerian Universities. It was part of the nucleus of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, when it was established in 1962. The two departments of Architecture and Fine Arts were established in 1952 and 1955 respectively, and existed as component parts of the defunct Nigerian College of Arts, Science and Technology, which later metamorphosed into the Ahmadu Bello University. Our pioneer status has aided us to be blessed with high calibre manpower – both in academic and administrative staff mix, as well as in lecture and research facilities.
Mission, Vision and Philosophy
The Faculty among other things shall embark on training of professional Master planners for Urban growth and development, and in line with Nation development plan and the world at Large.
The Faculty shall become a world class environment for the discharge of education, and enhancing the frontiers of knowledge through learning.
To produce well nurtured graduate that will be in a possition to contribute to the advancement of knowledege at local, National and Global levels.
