The 4th Annual Victimology and Victim Support Conference will hold virtually from Monday, 22nd November to Tuesday, 23rd November.
The Conference, christened “Emerging Role of Victimology and Victim Assistance Services in Changing Times”, is to be jointly hosted by Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria; University of Nairobi, Kenya; and Kibabii University, Bungoma County, Kenya.
This year’s Conference, which is a follow-up of the previous ones held in 2018, 2019 and 2020, has attracted over 100 participants from 10 countries with 40 research papers for presentations.
A background to the Conference released by Institute for Development Research and Training (IDR&T), Ahmadu Bello University, said the event is expected to provide a forum for stakeholders both international and local to deliberate and share information and ideas on forensic victimology and victim support.
The Conference, according to IDR&T, is also expected to bring together victimologists, victim support practitioners, researchers and other related partners, and to provide an opportunity to showcase the value of victim support services and the impact it has in the global value chain.
The Vice-Chancellor, Ahmadu Bello University, Prof. Kabiru Bala, is scheduled to address the conference at 7:30am on Tuesday, 23rd November.
ABU academic staff and researchers will either present papers or moderate sessions at the Conference.
