Welcome to the Department of Geomatics. The Department was established in 1972 offering undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Land Surveying. The nomenclature “Geomatics” was introduced in recent times to accommodate modern developments in the land surveying profession, especially in the areas of ICT, IoT, remote sensing and geoinformatics. The Department attracts students from a variety of backgrounds with diverse career goals. We engage in community outreach and interdisciplinary research. Members of academic staff are aspiring international researchers in their specialized fields which underpins the teaching and research, thus, ensuring that the latest developments are incorporated into our academic programme.
