I wish to welcome you to the pioneer planning school in Nigerian Universities. It was established in 1962 to train students of Architecture at the undergraduate, and postgraduate level. As a department, Architecture in Ahmadu Bello University believes that each student is a unique individual whose emotional, physical, social and intellectual growth requires a caring and stimulating atmosphere. It is thus our desire to help students meet their fullest potential through moral and academic support as well as sharing of ideas. In today’s competitive society (particularly as it relates to the notion of making cities and surrounding areas work sustainably), it is important for students to not only receive a solid education, but to be trained and also work in an environment that is aware of and sensitive to their individual needs. Department of Architecture in Ahmadu Bello University Zaria is such a place and will always strive to be the best school that it can be. We wish you a successful training and eventual graduation.
